Key objectives include:
· To package/repackage desktop software and deploy using SCCM or other methods
· Undertake problem diagnoses, correction and escalated support of Microsoft and desktop application technologies across the Bank.
· Facilitate the quality assurance and testing of desktop application installations and deployment
· Monitor new releases and patches to desktop applications and making recommendations on implementation and testing strategies
· Maintain a secure Desktop through the identification and regular deployment of security patches
· Set up and maintain an effective testing environment and test changes to production desktops in a controlled environment
· You will be primary SME for all staff and management requests associated with issues or implementations with desktop SOE and Applications
· Develop policies procedures and other documentation required to support the Bank desktop environment.
· Produce design, technical documentation, reports and records regarding infrastructure solutions.
· Ensure compliance to corporate change control procedures and methodologies.
· As directed, lead small project teams and coordinate the efforts of other groups. Provide advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.
· Keep abreast of industry developments and best practice in areas of responsibility
To succeed in the role you must have:
· Strong experience in Application Packaging using Admin Studio and configuration including AppV 5.x technology
· Certification and experience in Microsoft SCCM 2012 that have been maintained to current levels; or working towards within 12 months
· Certification (MCITP/MCSA) and experience in Microsoft server technologies that have been maintained to current levels; or working towards within 12 months
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft desktop (Windows 7/8.1/10) and server (2008R2/2012R2) operating systems
· Strong working knowledge of core Windows services - Active Directory/Group Policy
· Strong desktop / server virtualisations infrastructure experience
· Strong experience in writing policies and procedures and other support documentation
· A strong customer focus and proven ability to manage competing deadlines
Highly desirable would be the following:
· Degree qualification relevant to the Bank or IT industry
· Exposure to programming languages beneficial (PowerShell/VB/Batch)
· Experience working in large enterprise environments
· Experience in co-ordination of IT projects
